Before installing
Keep a backup of existing MyBoy saves. Do not uninstall an existing app or clear its storage to resolve a package conflict before preserving your progress.
Install the APK
- Download the MyBoy APK to your Android device.
- Open the downloaded file. If Android requests permission to install from that browser or file manager, review the prompt and enable it only if you intend to install this file.
- Follow Android’s installation screen, then open MyBoy.
- Remove the browser or file manager’s installation permission when you no longer need it.
Add a game
Put a legally obtained GBA game file in a folder you can identify. MyBoy supports .gba, .bin and .zip files; a ZIP must contain a supported game and must not be password protected. Use the app’s game-folder selection to grant access to the folder.
If Android refuses the installation
Record the exact error. A conflicting signature, an incompatible system or a damaged file can prevent installation. Do not treat uninstalling your current app as a routine fix: it can remove app-specific saves.
